For those of you who want to get 4G LTE enabled on Android 4.2.2, most of the latest custom Android 4.2.2 ROMs do support 4G LTE out of the box.

Step 2. First, make sure you are on one of the latest Android 4.2.2 custom ROMs (not stock).

Step 3. If you don’t get 4G LTE out of the box, you can download and run Build Prop Editor app from the Play Store.

Scroll down to “telephony.lteOnCdmaDevice” and set the value to 1 (if it is not set to 1).  When asked to reboot, reboot your Nexus 4.

Step 4. After rebooting, if you are not getting 4G LTE, dial *#*#4636#*#* on your dialer.

Step 5. Set the “Set preferred network type:” to “LTE/GSM auto (PRL)”.

Step 6. If you are still not getting 4G LTE, go into Mobile Networks->Access Point Names and choose the T-Mobile US LTE for T-Mobile.

FYI, Nexus 4 does not support 4G LTE bands for AT&T, it only supports LTE band 4.  If your carrier supports LTE band 4, you will also be able to enable 4G LTE.

Well I gave this a shot and it didn’t work at all. Had to go back 2-3 times and undo the steps because I couldn’t connect to my network, good news it was easy to undo so I don’t think you can mess up anything permanently by trying this. So I downloaded the Build Prop Editor which worked like a charm, I was able to change the “telephony.lteOnCdmaDevice” from 0 to 1 and that in turn changed the options under “More…” in setting but not once was I able to get T-Mobile US LTE to appear so I’ll just stick with the regular “T-Mobile US” option because I’m still pulling 15mbps which is pretty damn good.

Try this link, this what I used to get 4g speed on T-Mobile and works well but you need to be rooted. So just download the zip file and and reboot into recovery mode and flash the downloaded zip file, the after that reboot normal and do what max says in the explanation about #*#*4636*#*# and change that to lte https://db.tt/HYvYMjPL
